Oxiteno understands that it is responsible for the impacts of its decisions and activities. It develops its supply chain, from the selection and monitoring of suppliers, to caring for communities surrounding its facilities and the development of an inclusive and balanced environment for its employees.

Care for communities

Oxiteno is always developing the communities surrounding its facilities. It channels social investment, sponsorship and donations into educational projects and programs that provide people with gains in the present and the future. Oxiteno's projects in Brazil are:

Community Advisory Councils

All Oxiteno units in Brazil have an Active Community Advisory Council, serving as a channel between the company and the community in negotiations, answering questions and developing projects.

Arts Project

In partnership with the Evoluir Institution and Department of Education, Oxiteno supports the initiative to distribute complementary pedagogical resources to schools in municipal networks for the last 3 years. The collection has more than 300 children's books, educational games, toys, costumes, musical instruments, and train teachers to use the material in the National Curriculum.

Twenty-four school in Camacari (BA), Maua, Suzano, Tremembe (SP), and Triunfo (RS) are covered, with the potential to benefit more than 8,000 children.

Integrating Art and Life

In partnership with the National Sports Association (ANE) and the Municipal Department of Education of the city of Maua (SP), this project has been in collobration with the municipality for three years. It involves about 230 students a month and focuses on encouraging children and teens to complete their education through cultural and sports workshops.

Supply chain development

Oxiteno works to ensure that its supply chain is socially responsible. It establishes programs to select, monitor, and develop suppliers:

EcoVadis

In 2019 Oxiteno was recognized in the EcoVadis Gold category, a sustainability classification for global supply chains.

Roundtable on Sustainable Palm (RSPO)

Oxiteno is a member of the RSPO, a non-profit organization that ensures the entire palm oil production chain meet the sustainability of palm oil trade. Certification safeguards the criteria for processing palm oil products are met in a sustainable manner.
