Sulfates are anionic surfactants produced through the reaction of fatty alcohols or ethoxylated fatty alcohols with SO3, followed by neutralization with various bases. The degree of ethoxylation and the type of neutralizing base provide each product in this line with different features for its applications.

These products can reduce the surface tension of the formulations. They also act as foaming agents and stimulate surface wetting and soil emulsification. These characteristics give the ALKOPON® products excellent detergency, high foaming power, good water solubility, emulsification, and thickening in the presence of electrolytes.
